Job summary

Georgia Tech is seeking a Laboratory Support Technician to assist in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory. You will run instruments, maintain equipment, and ensure supplies and safety protocols are followed.

Responsibilities include setting up lab media, ordering materials, cleaning glassware, preparing samples, and assisting faculty and students as needed. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with up to two years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• This role requires working knowledge of instrumentation and lab equipment and lab procedures.
• Experience with inventory management and use of specialized computer applications is required.

Responsibilities

• Setup, operate and maintain instruments and other equipment used in performing lab tests and experiments.
• Order supplies and materials as required; maintain records.
• Setup laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations.
• May clean instruments, glassware and other lab equipment.
• Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
