Job summary

METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER in Cleveland is seeking a skilled Laboratory QA professional to serve as a facilitator of quality assessment activities within Laboratory Services. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, biological, clinical laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution with at least two years of training and/or experience in nonwaived testing in the designated specialty or subspecialty area of service for which the individual is responsible.
• 5 years of progressively more responsible experience in the designated specialty or section in the Clinical Laboratory for which the individual is responsible.
• Experience with laboratory equipment and computer systems.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Reliable mode of transportation and ability to rotate locations within The MetroHealth System.
• Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Preferred: 10 years of progressively more responsible experience in the designated specialty or section in the Clinical Laboratory for which the individual is responsible.
• Experience in quality assurance preferred.
• Registered (MT/ASCP, MLS/ASCP, or appropriate ASCP specialty).

Responsibilities

• Facilitate quality assessment activities for Laboratory Services.
• Ensure all testing adheres to CLIA, CAP, TJC, and other accrediting standards.
• Identify and recommend improvements in operating procedures.
• Provide training to laboratory staff and residents.
• Uphold MetroHealth System policies and customer service standards.
