Job summary

Spherion Staffing, LLC, partnering with a leading medical diagnostics organization in Madison, is seeking a Laboratory Processing Associate. You will handle the initial steps of receiving and preparing medical samples, ensuring accuracy and quality from the start.

The role offers $22-24 per hour, a 36-hour work week with third shift or weekend days/nights, temporary status, and hands-on experience in a modern laboratory.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous experience in a laboratory setting required.
• Strong typing skills (min. 35 wpm).
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to stay focused during repetitive tasks.
• Ability to stand and walk occasionally, sit up to 85% of shift, lift up to 40 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Receive, log, and process incoming laboratory specimens with accuracy.
• Follow proper identification procedures to ensure data matches sample records.
• Handle and dispose of laboratory specimens according to safety protocols and universal precautions.
• Manage specimen storage, organize inventory, and perform basic maintenance on lab equipment.
• Keep workspace clean and safe by transporting processing waste to designated disposal areas.
