Job summary

Heritage Valley Beaver is seeking a Laboratory Processing Technician II to perform EKGs and collect specimens within the scope of training, including legal specimen collection. The role includes preparing all specimen types and assisting with patient registration, lab report distribution, and other clerical duties.

• Four year high school graduate or GED equivalent with phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Training.
• Successful completion of Acts 73 and/or 169 clearances within 90 days of commencing employment, if applicable.

Department: Laboratory, Work Hours: Primarily evening shift, weekends, and holidays as needed.

The Laboratory Processing Technician II is responsible for the performance of EKGs, collection of specimens within the employee’s scope of training including legal specimen collection, and preparation of all specimen types. Assists with patient registration, laboratory report distribution and other clerical duties. Manages and troubleshoots the pre-analytical automation as assigned. Provides training and/or orientation for internal employees and external customers. Promotes and maintains a professional manner in all situations.

Requirements

Four year high school graduate or GED equivalent with phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Training and ACT 169 clearance.

Successful completion of Acts 73 and/or 169 clearances within 90 days of commencing employment, if applicable.
