Location: St Mary's Hospital

PRN hours vary from 1am-3:30pm.

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Lab Phlebotomist performs phlebotomy and other specimen collection tasks. They utilize Lab Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) for functions such as phlebotomy, order entry, result lookup, report generation, and specimen receiving and preparation. They also handle phone inquiries and direct issues to the appropriate departments.

Essential Job Functions

• Performs specimen collection procedures (nasal, oropharyngeal, venipuncture, etc.)
• Enters orders into systems
• Performs accessioning, centrifuging, and aliquoting
• Generates reports
• Provides basic customer service

Minimum Requirements

• High School/GED (required)
• Phlebotomy Certification (preferred)
• 1 year of phlebotomy experience (preferred)
• Basic phlebotomy training (preferred)
