Job summary

Veolia North America is seeking a Hazardous Waste Lab Pack Specialist to oversee packaging and shipping of regulated materials in compliance with EPA and DOT standards. The role involves fieldwork, documentation, and collaboration with the Clean Earth talent acquisition team during integration.

The position requires a related science degree, ability to lift heavy materials, and knowledge of hazardous waste regulations. Occasional travel and on-site safety planning are expected.

Qualifications

• Associate College degree in General Science or equivalent experience.
• Occasional travel.
• Physical ability to lift and move material frequently exceeding 55 lbs.
• Basic understanding of chemistry through general chemistry or biology.
• Advanced knowledge of EPA and DOT regulations.
• Minimum one year lab pack experience.
• 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPR (29 CFR 1910.120).
• 40 hours Depack Experience.
• 8 hours DOT Training.
• PPE Training including respirators.

Responsibilities

• Handle hazardous materials including inventorying, identifying, segregating, and packaging waste per Lab Pack policies and regulations.
• Occasionally perform onsite services such as waste collection, bulking, repackaging, sampling, and safety inspections.
• Assist other groups (Depack, Retail, HHW) as needed.
• Prepare shipments of packaged waste with proper labeling and documentation.
• Complete shipping papers and regulatory documentation.
• Follow health and safety procedures and develop on-site JSA plans.
• Submit Lab Packs for third-party approval and perform unknown field testing for classification.
