Job summary

Flagship Pioneering is seeking a highly organized Laboratory Operations Associate to support sample management, inventory, and day-to-day operations within its CMC and broader laboratory teams. This role involves building efficient inventory processes, organizing cargo, and coordinating procurement across teams in a fast-paced environment.

You will work with scientists and operations leadership, gain bench exposure, and grow toward a lab management role.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in laboratory operations or sample management.
• Hands-on bench experience at the Research Associate/Associate Scientist level.
• Experience with sample management and/or lab operations; familiarity with bench workflows is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain a sample management and inventory system in collaboration with the CMC team.
• Organize final cargo and coordinate handoffs across teams.
• Provide regular updates on cargo inventory to senior team members.
• Assist in procuring reagents, consumables, enzymes, and buffers as needed.
• Run decontamination and cleaning protocols for lab equipment weekly.
• Support onboarding of new lab members and equipment setup.
