Job summary

Quinnipiac University is seeking a Lab Operations Manager for the School of Health Sciences to support microbiology labs and instructional preparation. You'll work with faculty, staff, and students to ensure safe, efficient lab environments and prepare materials for undergraduate and graduate courses.

The role emphasizes organization, biosafety compliance, equipment maintenance, and collaboration across departments to advance student learning and research activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in microbiology, biomedical sciences, biology, or closely related field.
• 1–3 years of laboratory operations or management experience.
• Strong understanding of lab safety practices and chemical handling.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and support microbiology laboratory courses with equipment, supplies, reagents, media and instructional materials.
• Oversee daily operation, organization, maintenance, biosafety compliance, and shared spaces.
• Coordinate purchasing, receiving, storage, distribution, and recordkeeping for supplies.
• Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise student workers and lab assistants.
• Ensure facilities and equipment meet safety and instructional needs; collaborate with EH&S and faculty.
