Job summary

BayCare Health System in Bartow, FL seeks a Lab Medical Assistant II to collect, process and manage patient specimens across inpatient and outpatient settings. You will coordinate with nursing and physicians, perform phlebotomy and ensure accurate referrals to external labs.

The role requires 6 months of phlebotomy experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license. This is a part-time position with days and two 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• Required - 6 months Phlebotomy, Laboratory related; or related field
• Required High School or equivalent
• Or Bachelors related field in lieu of experience
• Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Collecting, receiving and processing of inpatient and outpatient specimens for testing
• Communications with nursing regarding patient specimens
• Referring specimens to outside laboratories
• Interaction with physicians, clients and staff regarding referral lab tests
• Performance of phlebotomy procedures
• Performs other duties as assigned
