Blue Origin is hiring to lead the New Glenn HIL labs, overseeing a team of technicians and specialists in building, integrating, testing, operating, and maintaining hardware-in-the-loop facilities. Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or closely related) required.
  • 3+ years of people management experience of a team of 5+ direct reports including hiring, onboarding, coaching, performance management and terminations.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and perform causal analysis on electrical and systems-level faults and drive corrective actions.
  • Proven ability to build, motivate, and retain a high-performing team of technicians.
  • Foster a culture of safety, open communication, accountability and continuous improvement in a lab setting.
  • Familiarity with safety programs and wiring standards (IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, or equivalent).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to manage priorities and interface with stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Excel).
  • U.S. citizen/national or eligible for work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with internal customers to plan, schedule, allocate resources, and execute integrated testing operations in the HIL.
  • Develop training requirements and ensure personnel are trained for HIL operations.
  • Oversee procurement of lab material, tools and test equipment, coordinate facilities upgrades and maintenance, and ensure calibration of equipment.
  • Drive a culture of Safety in the lab and ensure proper training and safety tools for personnel and visitors.
  • Understand, scope, assign, and track technical work to ensure milestones are delivered on time.
