Job summary

Blue Origin seeks an experienced hardware and embedded systems leader to drive the New Glenn program's hardware and avionics efforts. You will guide a small, high-impact team, translating system requirements into detailed plans and milestones while coordinating with design, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include driving prototype bring-up, verification, and manufacturability improvements, with a strong emphasis on safety, reliability, and cost

Qualifications

• 8+ years of hardware and embedded systems development with leadership experience.
• Background in embedded systems, board-level design, integration, and debugging.
• Experience delivering connected hardware products through prototype, validation, and manufacturing.
• Strong ability to coordinate across cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead hardware and embedded software development activities within the terminal program.
• Build a high-performing team to deliver program goals.
• Translate system requirements into detailed technical plans and milestones.
• Own day-to-day engineering execution for hardware, firmware, integration, and validation.
• Collaborate with industrial design, systems engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams.
• Drive prototype bring-up, debugging, and verification.
• Support design for manufacturability, testability, reliability, and cost reduction.
• Coordinate with contract manufacturers and internal operations for build readiness and design transfer.
• Ensure embedded software meets bring-up, control, diagnostics, secure operation, and field update needs.
• Track milestones, surface risks early, and resolve blockers.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to reviews and process improvements.
