Job summary

Trinity Health Livonia seeks a Lab Manager for the Core Lab and Blood Bank, leading a team of over 40 professionals. You will supervise routine and specialized testing, provide technical and managerial direction, and ensure training and resource optimization on-site in Livonia, MI.

Requirements include a MT/HT certification (preferred) and 3–5 years of relevant lab leadership experience, with strong hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis background.

Qualifications

• Baccalaureate degree in Medical Technology, Histotechnology, or related science required.
• MT/HT – ASCP or NCLS certification preferred.
• 3–5 years of progressive tech lab experience; 1–2 years in a leadership role.

Responsibilities

• Leads and manages laboratory staff including hiring recommendations, training, and scheduling.
• Oversees daily lab operations to ensure accurate, timely testing and high-quality patient care.
• Ensures regulatory compliance and quality control programs are maintained.
• Manages budgets, staffing models, inventory, and vendor utilization.
• Provides technical guidance and resolves operational issues.
• Evaluates new methodologies and process improvements for lab performance.
• Maintains quality control documentation and participates in education and training.
