Job summary

Mercy Health seeks a Lab Internship candidate for Fairfield Hospital to assist physicians by performing testing on blood, tissues, and other fluids to aid diagnosis and treatment. The role includes quality control, instrument operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting.

The position requires a High School Degree or GED and current enrollment in a Health Science program (MLS/MLT) toward an associate or bachelor’s degree, with the ability to work in a fast-paced clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Professional interaction with staff and patients in a clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and moderate complexity laboratory tests on specimens and reports results.
• Verify analytic accuracy, precision, and reference ranges for methods.
• Complete in-house quality checks on lab equipment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly with equipment.
• Organize and maintain laboratory supplies inventory.
• Other duties as assigned.
