Job summary

Qualifications

• Education requirement: doctoral, master’s, or bachelor’s degree in medical technology, clinical laboratory, chemical, or biological science.
• Experience: 1 year laboratory instrumentation and operating systems maintenance.
• Skills: strong organizational, communication, and analytical abilities; good laboratory technique.

Responsibilities

• Recordkeeping and validation of new reagent lots; prepare in-house controls and calibrators.
• Perform reagent, QC material, assay, and instrument validations.
• Install and validate new assays on screening instruments.
• Troubleshoot instrument problems and coordinate with vendors/engineers.
• Ensure proficiency test surveys are completed correctly and timely.
• Maintain screening instruments and perform regular maintenance checks.
• Provide guidance to screening techs on workflow and data review.
• Train new personnel and document training.
