Job summary

Cognizant seeks a recent graduate to join the Lab Informatics & Scientific Systems team, bridging laboratory science and software engineering. You will support and help build the digital backbone of our QC and R&D laboratories, including instrumentation and data systems.

No prior lab experience is required; you will learn on the job and collaborate with stakeholders while working with LabVantage/StarLIMS and related platforms, supporting validation and data integrity in GLP/GMP contexts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in biotechnology, bioinformatics, computer science, software engineering, information systems, or related field.
• Solid programming fundamentals in one or more languages and SQL; exposure to Oracle/PL-SQL is a plus.
• Familiarity with lab software concepts such as LIMS, CDS, SDMS is welcome; demonstrated curiosity acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level support for lab software systems and instrument integration platforms.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and upgrade lab instrument software across Windows/Linux.
• Maintain data flow between instruments, databases, and LIMS/CDS platforms.
• Document issues, resolutions, and ITSM ticket lifecycle from start to finish.
• Collaborate with QA, vendors, and IT to improve lab workflows and system performance.
