Job summary

Cognizant is seeking graduates who are curious about both lab science and software engineering to join our Lab Informatics & Scientific Systems team. You will help support and build the digital backbone for QC and R&D laboratories, connecting instruments like HPLC/GC with LIMS/CDS and enterprise systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Solid programming fundamentals in Java, Python, .NET/C#, or similar, plus working knowledge of SQL.
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office for documentation, analysis, and reporting.
• Awareness of lab instruments and LIMS/CDS/SDMS concepts; exposure to IQ/OQ/PQ and GLP/GMP/FDA is a plus.
• Curiosity and adaptability; strong written and verbal communication; customer‑first mindset.

Responsibilities

• Provide first‑level support for laboratory software systems and instrument integration platforms.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and upgrade lab instrument software across Windows/Linux.
• Support software‑to‑hardware integration and ensure data flow between instruments, databases, and LIMS/CDS.
• Manage incidents and requests using ServiceNow or Remedy; own tickets end‑to‑end.
• Monitor SLAs, document issues, and maintain knowledge bases.
• Coordinate onsite visits for complex issues, installations, and validation activities.
