Job summary

Cognizant's Lab Informatics & Scientific Systems team in Teaneck, NJ seeks graduates with a foundation in software and lab concepts. You’ll support and help build the digital backbone for QC and R&D labs, interfacing with LIMS, CDS, and lab instruments.

We’ll teach the science while you apply Java, Python, and SQL in a regulated environment, with mentorship, cross‑functional teams, and growth toward automation and AI‑driven innovation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology, Bioinformatics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
• Solid programming fundamentals in Java, Python, .NET/C#, or similar with working knowledge of SQL.
• Awareness or coursework exposure to lab software concepts such as LIMS, CDS, or SDMS; GLP/GMP/FDA familiarity is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide first-level, hands-on support for laboratory software systems and instrument integration platforms.
• Install, configure, troubleshoot, and upgrade lab instrument software across Windows/Linux environments.
• Support software-to-hardware data flow between instruments, databases, and LIMS/CDS platforms.
• Use ServiceNow/Remedy to manage incidents and changes from initiation to closure.
• Document configurations, troubleshooting steps, and knowledge-base articles for the team.
