Job summary

The Laboratory Informaticist I at CHRISTUS Health provides support for laboratory information systems, assisting with operation, testing, documentation and optimization to improve patient safety and workflow. You will work with clinical and technical teams to ensure regulatory compliance and effective system use across a large multi-regional health system.

Responsibilities include collaborating with informatics and technical colleagues, training users, and contributing to governance and change

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalent with 1+ years clinical experience or 2+ years clinical experience in lieu of degree.
• Strong knowledge of clinical information systems, data management and administration.
• Advance knowledge of Microsoft Office products.
• Excellent verbal and written skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Health Informatics colleagues across the enterprise to drive strategic goals and vision for the department and CHRISTUS Health.
• Collaborate with Health Informatics colleagues to focus on standardized best practice workflow processes and clinical content to ensure alignment across all ministries to improve patient safety.
• Collaborates with technical colleagues to help identify infrastructure related issues affecting laboratory applications.
• Provides advice, guidance, and informal training to users of supported laboratory applications.
• Contribute to knowledge transfer and dissemination of best practices across ministries through information structures, processes, and information technology.
• Assess laboratory information systems for efficient and effective use related to patient care, user satisfaction, clinical productivity and quality outcomes.
