Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of computer hardware and system architecture; ability to perform hardware diagnostics and basic networking concepts.
• Experience with scripting or automation tools such as Python or PowerShell; willingness to learn and automate repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and configure OEM laptop systems for testing, including hardware upgrades, BIOS updates, and OS deployment.
• Execute and manage system-level performance benchmarks using Geek bench, Cine bench, SPEC, and 3DMark.
• Conduct test plans with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to align on testing priorities and methodologies.
• Analyze benchmark results to identify performance trends and validate expectations.
• Maintain inventory tracking and troubleshoot technical issues to support lab operations.

Immediate need for a talented Lab Engineering Technician. This is a 06+ Months Contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in Santa Clara, CA (Onsite).

Pay Range: $43/hour. Employee benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance (medical, dental, vision), 401(k) plan, and paid sick leave (depending on work location).

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and configure OEM laptop systems for testing, including hardware upgrades, BIOS updates, and operating system deployment.
• Execute and manage system-level performance benchmarks using tools such as Geek bench, Cine bench, SPEC, and 3DMark.
• Conduct test plans with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.

Key Requirements and Technology Experience:

• Associate's Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• 1+ years of experience in a technical lab, engineering support, IT support, or related operational environment.
• Experience with inventory management and asset tracking.
• Foundational knowledge of computer hardware and system architecture, hardware diagnostics, and networking fundamentals.
• Basic experience with scripting or automation tools such as Python or PowerShell.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 2-3 years of experience supporting hardware labs or data center environments.
• Familiarity with additional industry-standard benchmarking tools and experience analyzing performance data.
