Job summary

Pyramid Consulting, Inc. is seeking a Lab Engineering Technician for a 06+ months contract in Santa Clara, CA, onsite. The role focuses on configuring OEM laptops, running performance benchmarks, and supporting lab operations.

Qualifications include an associate degree plus 1+ years in a technical lab environment, knowledge of hardware and networking fundamentals, and scripting basics (Python/PowerShell). Experience with benchmarking tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent in a technical discipline; 1+ years in a technical lab, engineering support, IT support, or similar environment.
• Foundational knowledge of computer hardware and system architecture; ability to perform hardware diagnostics and basic networking concepts.
• Experience with scripting or automation tools such as Python or PowerShell; willingness to learn and automate repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and configure OEM laptop systems for testing, including hardware upgrades, BIOS updates, and OS deployment.
• Execute and manage system-level performance benchmarks using Geek bench, Cine bench, SPEC, and 3DMark.
• Conduct test plans with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to align on testing priorities and methodologies.
• Analyze benchmark results to identify performance trends and validate expectations.
• Maintain inventory tracking and troubleshoot technical issues to support lab operations.
