Job summary

Amazon Inc. in Seattle is seeking a Materials Testing Engineer to conduct and document testing on packaging substrates, adhesives, coatings, and fibers.

You will analyze results, maintain equipment, and ensure safe lab operations while collaborating with engineers to support material development and process improvements. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in a related field and hands-on testing experience; a master’s degree is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a related field and at least two years hands-on engineering or lab experience.
• Experience in hands-on testing, lab operations, hardware development, or aerospace maintenance.
• Preferred familiarity with TAPPI, ASTM, ISO, ISTA methods and testing equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct and document materials testing on packaging substrates, adhesives, coatings, and fibers.
• Analyze and report results, and maintain equipment and safe laboratory operations.
• Collaborate with engineers and scientists to support material development, supplier qualification, and process improvement.
• Prepare data analyses and technical reports to inform decision making.
