Job summary

Meta is seeking a Lab Engineer for the Hardware Infrastructure team in Texas. You will support lab environments for validating server, storage, and networking hardware at scale, working closely with hardware and systems engineers to design test configurations and ensure reliable facilities.

You will operate lab instrumentation, perform bring-up and rack operations, and automate routine tasks using Python and Bash, while maintaining safety and inventory processes across multiple validation

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, completed before joining Meta.
• 2+ years in a hardware lab, data center operations, or systems integration environment.
• 2+ years hands-on with server/storage/networking hardware including rack installation and cabling.
• Experience using lab instrumentation (power meters, oscilloscopes, thermal tools) in hardware validation.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automating lab tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up, configure, and maintain lab environments for server, storage, and networking hardware validation and characterization.
• Execute hardware bring-up, rack-and-stack, and cabling for test beds.
• Develop and maintain lab inventory systems and asset tracking.
• Collaborate with engineers to design test configurations meeting validation requirements.
• Operate and troubleshoot lab instrumentation and coordinate with vendors on RMA processes.
• Automate routine lab operations using scripting to boost throughput and reduce manual work.
• Maintain lab safety and environmental monitoring systems.
• Coordinate lab scheduling across concurrent validation programs.
