Booz Allen Hamilton is seeking a Network Engineer to join a team building and hardening next-generation telecommunications infrastructure. You will apply deep Layer 2/3 fundamentals, precision timing, Linux, and documentation discipline while delivering lab-ready configurations under tight timelines.

This role offers exposure to GPU-accelerated servers, virtualization, Kubernetes, and secure networking in a mission-focused environment with potential for a Secret clearance and clear career

Qualifications

• 5+ years of network engineering experience in defense, telecom, or enterprise networks.
• Strong hands-on with Layer 2/3 switching, VLAN design, QoS, and ACLs.
• Proven Linux server administration including Ubuntu/RHEL, SSH hardening, and log management.
• Experience with virtualization/containers in lab or production environments.

Responsabilités

• Build, rack, cable, and configure lab network stack and supporting infrastructure.
• Configure precision timing distribution (PTP grandmaster with GPS/GNSS) and timing chain verification.
• Design VLAN segmentation for management, control, user, and timing traffic.
• Configure QoS/CoS for latency-sensitive flows.
• Deploy IP networking for platforms, including Kubernetes and backhaul.
• Stand up virtualized network functions on hypervisor VMs and verify connectivity.
• Troubleshoot containerized workloads on Kubernetes and validate interface connectivity.
• Provision devices and execute connectivity tests (iperf3).
• Apply CIS Level 1 hardening on Ubuntu and related security controls.
• Write and maintain SOPs, MOPs, and troubleshooting guides; collaborate across teams.
