Job summary

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid Michigan Driver’s License required.

Responsibilities

• Keeps the hospital vehicle in working order. Responsible for basic cleaning and checking fluids. Notify supervisor if something is wrong with the car.
• Fills physician supply orders and delivers supplies promptly.
• Delivers all specimens to the lab while maintaining specimen integrity. Notifies staff of STAT specimens.
• Promotes customer service and handles problems effectively at the physician office.
• Responds to physicians’ offices needs by delivering correspondence and picking up STATs when needed.
• Completes all assigned tasks when needed.
• Available for emergency situations that require transporting specimens if an instrument is down to another facility.
• Documentation and recording specimens obtained at each office.
• Maintains favorable attendance and reports absences per Department Manager instructions.
• Recognizes job relationships and functions within the organization.
• Maintains professional growth through attendance at seminars and workshops.

Qualifications

• Delivers all specimens to the lab while maintaining specimen integrity. Notifies staff of STAT specimens

• Responds to physicians’ offices needs by delivering correspondence and picking up STATs when needed
• Completes all assigned tasks when needed
• Available for emergency situations that arise that a courier is needed to transport specimens if an instrument is down to another testing facility
• Documentation and recording specimens obtained at each office
• Maintains favorable attendance. Reports absences in accordance with the Employee Handbook in the manner prescribed by the Department Manager
• Recognizes job relationships and functions effectively within the organizational structure
• Maintains professional growth and development through attendance at seminars, workshops, and other means to keep abreast of latest trends in the laboratory field
• Completes mandatory education and employee health screening on a timely basis
• Perform other duties as required or assigned
