Job summary

LABTECH DIAGNOSTICS is seeking a laboratory courier to transport specimens from physician offices and collection centers. You will follow safety guidelines, maintain proper labeling, and ensure specimens are kept at correct temperatures.

The role requires a clean driving record, valid license and Insurance, and comfort using GPS-based routing on a smartphone or device. Work hours are Mon–Fri, 3pm–9pm, with shipping duties as needed.

Job description

The laboratory courier is responsible for transporting specimens from physician offices, collection centers, and nursing homes to Labtech Diagnostics. The laboratory courier is an OSHA Category I employee and must adhere to the safety guidelines for this position.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Follow laboratory policies and procedures for specimen handling
• Use appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)
• Maintain good customer service etiquette
• Adhere to a schedule for a specific route
• Communicate immediately when there is a customer problem or complaint
• Assure specimens picked up are labeled appropriately
• Ensure specimens are kept at the appropriate temperature
• Maintain a current driver's license and active auto insurance policy
• Occasionally deliver supplies to offices
• Maintain current education in Bloodborne Pathogens, HIPAA, and Leaks and Spills.
• Performs additional tasks/duties as instructed by supervisor

Required Skills/Abilities:

• A clean 10-year driving record
• Current driver's license and insurance policy
• Use technology for routing and communication purposes (smartphone, GPS, digital maps, etc.)

Education and Experience:

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required

Physical Requirements:

• Visual and auditory acuteness
• Ability to sit for long periods and perform kneeling, bending, and lifting containers up to 20 lbs.

M-F 3pm to 9pm
