Job summary

Penn State College of Medicine, Heart and Vascular Institute in Hershey, PA, seeks a Lab Coordinator to manage a busy cardiovascular research lab. The role involves cell culture, qPCR, Western blot, patch clamp, and small-animal procedures under the supervision of Dr.

Elisa Bradley. The successful candidate will handle data processing, IRB coordination, and daily lab operations, including budgets and inventory, with a focus on high-quality research output and collaborative support for postdoc

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; 3+ years relevant lab experience.
Experience with cell culture, qPCR, Western blot, and patch clamp.
Ability to manage multi-project lab operations and budgets.

Responsibilities

Manage multi-center submission of human subjects data and biologic specimens.
Oversee lab management: ordering, inventory, maintenance, storage, and study budgets.
Prepare human iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes and perform contraction analyses, patch clamping, and related studies.
Prepare cDNA clones, transfection solutions, and run PCR/Western blot analyses.
Coordinate weekly lab activities with the PI and staff to ensure core facility availability.
