Job summary

The Penn State College of Medicine, Heart and Vascular Institute in Hershey, PA seeks a Lab Coordinator to support arrhythmia and heart failure research in congenital heart disease. The lab combines human studies and animal models to study cardiovascular function using imaging and electrophysiology.

The successful candidate will apply cell culture, imaging, patch clamp, small animal echocardiography, murine surgery, data analysis, and contribute to presentations and manuscripts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 3+ years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Proficiency with cell culture, imaging, and molecular assays.
• Experience with patch clamp, qPCR, immunoblotting and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-center submission of human subjects data and specimens.
• Assist faculty with IRB protocols.
• Oversee lab operations including ordering, inventory, and budgeting.
• Prepare iPSC-derived cardiomyocytes and perform contraction analysis.
• Transfect cell lines and run pharmacological assays.
• Train staff and coordinate weekly lab activities with PI.
