Job summary

Penn State University in Hershey, PA is seeking a Research Technologist to establish and maintain human iPSC cultures and contribute to genome engineering efforts in a cardiovascular disease research lab.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 1+ years of relevant experience preferred.
• Experience with mammalian cell culture.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently within a collaborative team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain iPSC lines: culture, expansion, cryopreservation, quality control.
• Differentiate iPSCs into cardiomyocytes and related cell types.
• Isolate and expand single-cell clones; perform PCR/Sanger sequencing.
• Perform DNA/RNA extraction, qPCR, Western blot, immunofluorescence, and flow cytometry as needed.
• Maintain accurate lab records and electronic databases.
• Prepare reagents, manage supplies, and ensure lab safety compliance.
• Assist in data analysis, figure preparation, and presentation of results.
• Participate in lab meetings and collaborative projects.
