Job summary

You will develop working knowledge of laboratory services, workflows, terminology, and systems while following established policies and procedures, processing routine requests, orders, inquiries, worklists, and work queues, and escalating complex issues as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred or completion of college-level healthcare or science coursework.

Responsibilities

• Answers and manages incoming laboratory calls with professional, timely assistance.
• Provides information on testing requirements, specimen collection, handling, and turnaround times.
• Assists with test selection and order entry for providers and clinical staff.
• Resolves routine order discrepancies and escalates complex issues.
• Monitors lab worklists and queues to ensure timely completion.
• Coordinates routine and STAT courier requests per policy.
• Communicates critical and priority results per policy.
• Documents client interactions and actions taken.
