Job summary

Bon Secours Mercy Health in Richmond, VA is seeking a Lab Client Service Technician to provide expert lab testing support and clear communication to physicians and the community. The role focuses on accuracy, rapid response, and adherence to hospital policies while assisting in clinical and anatomic pathology workflows.

The position requires MLS or ASCP certification, multiple education pathways in medical laboratory science, and a few years of clinical lab experience.

Qualifications

• MLS or ASCP certification is required
• Three years of technical experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred
• Education options include AS or BS degrees or equivalent coursework in medical lab science

Responsibilities

• Provides rapid and accurate communication of laboratory testing and reporting in support of hospital policies and protocols
• Supports all aspects of the laboratory operations including clinical and anatomic pathology and laboratory ancillary services
• Identifies and reports errors that prevent timely and accurate release of patient results and develops corrective actions
• Responds to questions from providers regarding testing availability, specimen requirements, testing methodology, and esoteric testing
• Other duties as assigned
