Job summary

CommonSpirit Medical Group seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support a busy internal medicine practice in Chattanooga, TN. You will assist with screenings, clinical procedures, patient education, and admin coordination to ensure smooth, patient-centered care.

The role requires strong clinical knowledge, tech fluency with EHR systems, compassion, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Training and collaboration with clinicians are emphasized.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate or GED.
• Specialized training such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician may be required.
• CMA (AAMA) or CCMA/NAHP/NCCT/AMT/NAHP/AMT certification upon hire.
• BLS/CPR certification within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs including BP, temp, pulse, respiration, height, weight, allergies, meds, and presenting problem.
• May be required to draw blood samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Administer prescribed medications and vaccines via oral, injection, topical, rectal, ophthalmic, or inhalant routes.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at Internal Medicine Associates - Chattanooga, Hixson Pike, you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.

Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.

• Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.

Job Requirements

Required

• High School Graduate or High School GED and
• May require specialized training, such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician.
• Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire or
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, upon hire or
• Certified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire or
• National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire or
• National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire or
• Registered Medical Assistant AMT, upon hire or
• Registered Medical Assistant, upon hire or
• Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Preferred

• Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course or Exam
• Two (2) years Medical Assistant experience
• Electronic health record experience
