Job summary

CommonSpirit Health seeks a Float Certified Medical Assistant to provide versatile clinical and administrative support across departments. You will triage patients, assist with examinations, and manage patient records digitally to ensure efficient flow of care throughout our facilities.

Daily duties include vital signs collection, specimen preparation, and administering vaccines as ordered, while upholding patient privacy and safety in diverse settings.

Qualifications

  • Must hold CMA certification (or be hire-ready) and CPR/BLS.
  • Experience performing vital signs and basic patient care is preferred.
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and privacy regulations is required.

Responsibilities

  • Triage patients and assist providers with examinations and procedures.
  • Record and manage patient vital signs and demographics.
  • Prepare patients for visit and ensure a clean, organized clinical environment.
  • Collect specimens for laboratory analysis when required.
  • Administer medications or vaccines as ordered.
  • Maintain patient privacy and protect patient safety at all times.

As a Float Certified Medical Assistant, you will provide versatile clinical and administrative support across various departments, ensuring seamless patient care and operational efficiency throughout our facilities.

Every day you will expertly triage patients, assist providers with examinations and procedures, manage patient records digitally, and meticulously maintain a clean and organized clinical environment, adapting seamlessly to diverse settings.

To be successful, you will demonstrate outstanding adaptability, strong clinical skills, and a proactive, patient-centered demeanor, contributing significantly to optimal patient flow and high-quality care wherever assigned.

  • Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
  • Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
  • Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
  • Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.
  • May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
  • Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
Job Requirements
Required
  • High School Graduate or
  • High School GED and
  • May require specialized training, such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician.
  • Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire or
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, upon hire or
  • Certified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire or
  • National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire or
  • National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire or
  • Registered Medical Assistant AMT, upon hire or
  • Registered Medical Assistant, upon hire or
  • Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire and
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
Preferred
  • Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course or Exam
  • Two (2) years Medical Assistant experience
  • Electronic health record experience
