Job summary

CommonSpirit Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Orthopedics-Hixson clinic to support patient care and clinic operations, including screenings, clinical procedures, health education, and administrative coordination.

You will collect vital signs, assist with procedures, manage patient flow, ensure privacy, and collaborate with care teams to deliver compassionate, efficient care; strong clinical knowledge and a willingness to learn are essential.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED
• May require specialized training such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician
• Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire or
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, upon hire or
• Certified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire or
• National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire or
• National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire or
• Registered Medical Assistant AMT, upon hire or
• Registered Medical Assistant, upon hire or
• Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days
• Two (2) years Medical Assistant experience (preferred)
• Electronic health record experience (preferred)

Responsibilities

• Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height and weight, drug allergies, and current medications.
• May be required to draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.
• Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via various routes.

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at CommonSpirit Medical Group-Orthopedics-Hixson, you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.

Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns.

Required

• High School Graduate or

• May require specialized training, such as Non-Certified Radiologic Technician.
• Certified Medical Assistant AAMA, upon hire or
• Certified Clinical Medical Assistant, upon hire or
• Certified Medical Assistant NHA, upon hire or
• National Certified Medical Assistant NCCT, upon hire or
• National Registered/Certified Medical Assistant NAHP, upon hire or
• Registered Medical Assistant AMT, upon hire or
• Registered Medical Assistant, upon hire or
• Cert Med Asst - MMCI, upon hire and
• Basic Life Support - CPR, within 30 Days

Preferred

• Completion of a Certified Medical Assistant course or Exam
• Two (2) years Medical Assistant experience
