Job summary

CommonSpirit Medical Group is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Orthopedics team in Hixson. You will support care teams with screenings, clinical procedures, patient education, and coordinated administrative tasks.

You will apply strong clinical knowledge and compassionate, patient-centered care while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team and leveraging EHR systems. A commitment to learning and teamwork is essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED; CMA certifications preferred.
• CMA certification(s) required or preferred upon hire.
• Experience with electronic health records is a plus.
• Strong patient-centered communication and privacy compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.
• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.
• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.
• Obtain and record vital signs including BP, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, allergies, medications, and presenting problem.
• May draw and collect blood samples and prepare specimens for lab analysis.
• Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via multiple routes.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) at CommonSpirit Medical Group-Orthopedics-Hixson, you will be a vital pillar of our care team, significantly impacting patient well-being through direct support and seamless coordination.

Every day, you will actively collaborate on comprehensive screenings, assist with clinical procedures, provide essential health education, and expertly manage administrative tasks, leveraging technology to coordinate care for diverse patient populations. You will ensure patients feel at ease, patiently explaining instructions and addressing their concerns.

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong clinical knowledge, technological fluency, genuine compassion for patient well-being, and an adaptable spirit keen on continuous learning and collaborative teamwork.

• Provide for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights.


• Perform general patient care by following established standards and procedures.


• Greet and prepare patients for the health care provider.


• Obtain and record vital signs including but not limited to, blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, and current medications and presenting problem.


• May be required to draw and collect blood samples from patients and prepare specimens for laboratory analysis.


• Administer ordered medications and/or vaccines via oral, injection, topically, rectal, ophthalmic, and/or inhalant administration.
