Job summary

Entegris, Inc. in Billerica, MA, is seeking a Lab Automation & AI Engineering Co-Op for the Spring 2027 term. The 6-month assignment combines hands-on lab work with coding and AI to automate workflows and improve data quality.

You will develop Python tools, prototype AI-assisted solutions, integrate instrument data with lab systems (LIMS), and collaborate with scientists to deliver reliable tools for faster, more consistent experiments.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
• Proficient in Python for data analysis or automation.
• Familiar with structured data (Excel, CSV, databases).
• Able to work onsite in Billerica, MA for the full Spring term.
• Experience with APIs, data pipelines, or workflow automation.
• Exposure to AI tools or AI frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Support automation of manual lab workflows such as data processing, QC review, and report generation.
• Develop and test Python scripts or tools for data analysis, cleanup, and automation.
• Prototype and evaluate AI-assisted tools for practical lab applications.
• Assist with connecting instrument data to lab systems (e.g., LIMS) and reducing manual Excel/CSV handling.
• Document workflows, assumptions, and usage instructions for tools you help build.
• Collaborate with lab staff to gather requirements and improve tools based on feedback.
