Job summary

Entegris in Billerica, MA is seeking an Automation & Controls Engineering Co‑Op for the Spring 2027 season. This 6‑month program offers hands-on experience with PLC programming, HMI/SCADA, and automation system commissioning under supervision.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency, perform debugging, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in a high-tech manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a relevant engineering bachelor’s degree.
• Strong interest in industrial automation and manufacturing systems.
• Familiarity with PLC concepts and HMI/SCADA through coursework or projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist design, integration, and documentation of automation systems and controls.
• Support PLC logic development and HMI updates to improve cycle time and OEE.
• Perform root cause analysis and corrective actions for downtime and quality issues.
• Participate in development and testing of automated inspection systems using vision and sensors.
• Support system commissioning, validation, and acceptance testing activities.
• Assist with safety validations, risk assessments, and compliance checks.
• Document findings and maintain project documentation and version control.
