Job summary

GT's Living Foods, LLC in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Laboratory Assistant to collect samples, prepare them for microbiological testing, and assist with data entry and equipment cleanliness.

This full-time temporary role requires 0-6 months lab experience or relevant education, a valid driver’s license, and careful attention to detail. The schedule is 9am-5:30pm with a pay range of $18.00-$20.00 per hour.

Qualifications

• 0-6 months of laboratory experience or equivalent education
• Must have a valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and be able to drive locally
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Proficient with MS Outlook, Excel and Word
• Clear written and verbal communication; team-oriented mindset
• Food Science degree preferred or similar

Responsibilities

• Pickup samples from various worksites and return to the laboratory
• Assist with lab tests, preparing samples of ingredients, juices, and products for microbiological testing and environmental swabs
• Data entry: record product name, lot numbers, pH, and Brix
• Maintain cleanliness of laboratory equipment and inventory
• Comply with safety procedures and regulations
• Occasionally assist Quality Technicians on the production line as needed

Requirements:

Experience: Seeking 0-6 months of Laboratory experience or an equivalent of relevant education

• Must have a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and be able to drive a motor vehicle to travel locally

Job Description:

• Pick up samples from various worksites and return samples to the laboratory, ensuring the proper storage and packaging for ingredients/samples in transport and in the lab.
• Assist with conducting lab tests, such as preparing samples of raw ingredients, juices, and finished products for microbiological testing and environmental swabs.
• Data entry, manually recording product name, lot numbers, Ph, and Brix on tested product.
• Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of laboratory equipment and inventory.
• Comply with safety procedures and regulations.
• Occasionally assist Quality Technicians on the production line as needed.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Strong attention to detail; passion for accuracy and granular details
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word
• Communication: ability to convey information clearly and professionally both verbally and in writing.
• Partner collaboratively and place a premium on team success over individual accomplishments.
• Consistently meet deadlines; ensures time-sensitive tests are completed as specified.
• Work efficiently and effectively to prioritize tasks
• Food Science degree preferred or similar

Job Details:

Work Hours: 9am-5:30pm. Full-Time (Temporary).

Work Attire: Must wear proper PPE. Use good judgment, keeping in mind the nature of their work, their own safety and the safety of others.

Pay Range: $18.00 - $20.00hr
