Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Laboratory Associate to join the patient care team. The role focuses on specimen collection, registration, order entry, processing, packaging and transport, with phlebotomy across neonatal to geriatric patients.

Rotations across campuses and weekend/holiday coverage are required as part of the responsibilities. Required: completion of an approved phlebotomy program; preferred 1 year experience and phlebotomy internship.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Successful completion of approved phlebotomy program required.
• Completion of Phlebotomy Internship preferred.
• 1 Year experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritize processing and transport of routine and stat specimens.
• Complies with all established guidelines to ensure integrity of laboratory specimens.
• Inverts tubes, refrigeration when necessary, clotting and centrifugation.
• Handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.
• Perform order entry and registration according to policies.
