Overview

Progress West Hospital has a full-time Lab Associate II opportunity for an experienced phlebotomist and lab processor to work in an outpatient setting. In this role, you will also send out tests, pathology, and FNA collections. A great opportunity for growth in a laboratory setting!

Schedule

3 12-hour shifts (6:00am - 6:30pm) with rotating weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Performs waived and moderate complex testing with appropriate training and competency, sweat chloride collections, EKGs, etc.
• Under supervision, reports test results as appropriate.
• Sorts and processes routine and specific high level specimens received by the lab, including multistep technical processing (e.g., Histology, Microbiology, Cytology). Ensures correct processing and packaging for esoteric send-out tests.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• Inventory management, equipment cleaning, maintenance, loading, etc.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: 2-5 years
• Supervisor Experience: No Experience

Preferred Requirements

• Education: Associate's Degree

Licenses & Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS)
