• Day Shift M-F 9:00am - 5:30pm
• No Weekends!! No Holidays!!
• Duties include: Phlebotomy, lab specimen collections, preparing specimens for testing, and other duties as assigned.

Overview

Memorial Hospital Belleville is an acute care hospital offering medical and surgical services, including critical and emergency care, and pediatric emergency care at Memorial for children. It provides a full range of diagnostic and treatment services, as well as heart and vascular care. Memorial is an accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI by the Society of Cardiovascular Patient Care and is designated as an Acute Stroke Ready Hospital by the Illinois Department of Public Health. Additionally, Memorial Belleville is accredited by the American College of Radiology as a Lung Cancer Screening Center. Since 2008, it has been recognized as a Magnet organization for nursing excellence by the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Memorial Hospital Shiloh, a 94-bed, all-private suite hospital, was recognized with Magnet status in 2018. It provides emergency care, labor & delivery, nursery, medical and surgical services, and critical care.

Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Perform specimen collection, handling, and clerical duties. Experience in phlebotomy and proficiency in tasks such as central processing, in-office phlebotomy, or inventory management is preferred.

Responsibilities

1. Interpret physician orders and order tests in the appropriate system.
2. Perform phlebotomy, ensure positive patient identification and interaction, and maintain specimen integrity. May work in outpatient labs, physician offices, or off-campus patient service centers.
3. Sort and process specimens received by the laboratory and handle all specimens proficiently.
4. Coordinate multiple tasks accurately, including STAT orders, and prioritize work to meet turnaround times.
5. May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
