Summary of Job Duties:
The Phlebotomist supports all sections of the Clinical Outpatient Laboratory through proper phlebotomy techniques, specimen accessioning, processing, and related activities. Responsibilities include using correct blood collection tubes, matching identifiers with requisitions and labels, obtaining blood samples, resolving specimen and patient issues, and following all departmental policies. The position also assists with access coordinator duties, including opening/closing the clinic and training new employees.
This is a split position with a Patient Care Tech (PCT). The PCT supports patient care under RN supervision, performing tasks such as preparing treatment rooms, assisting with procedures, conducting patient interviews, measuring vital signs, performing EKGs, dressing changes, administrative tasks, and other duties as assigned.
