Preferred Qualifications

Role Purpose

Perform specimen collection, handling, and clerical duties. Experience in phlebotomy and proficiency in additional tasks such as central processing, in-office phlebotomy, or inventory management.

Responsibilities

• Interpret physician orders and order tests in appropriate systems.
• Perform phlebotomy, ensure positive patient identification, interact professionally, and maintain specimen integrity. May work in outpatient labs, physician offices, or off-campus patient service centers.
• Sort and process specimens received by the laboratory and handle all specimens proficiently.
• Coordinate multiple tasks accurately, including STAT orders and workload fluctuations, prioritizing to meet turnaround times.
• May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
