Job summary

Piedmont Macon Medical is seeking a weekend Phlebotomy Technician to join our clinical team. This role includes venipuncture and sample processing in a regulated setting, with responsibilities aligned to CMS/CLIA standards.

No experience is required, though 1 year as a phlebotomist and EKG experience are preferred. A High School Diploma or GED is required, and CPT phlebotomy certification is optional but preferred.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required; 1 year phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests per CMS (CLIA '88).
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens per Piedmont policies.

Responsibilities

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non‑clinical tasks.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred
