The role reports to the Laboratory Supervisor or Director and supports Medical Laboratory Technicians and Scientists, ensuring accurate specimen handling and timely processing.

Requirements include a High School diploma or GED; Laboratory Assistant and Phlebotomy certification are preferred. One year of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of medical laboratory assistant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Verify patient and specimen information 100% of the time.
• Label specimens and prepare aliquots with accurate patient IDs.
• Receive and process specimens quickly to meet turnaround-time goals.
• Assist with phlebotomy as needed and with send-out specimen processing.
• Maintain a clean, organized work environment and sanitize benchtops and equipment.
