Job summary

Asante in Medford, OR is seeking a Lab Assistant/Specimen Processor to receive and process laboratory specimens in accordance with regulatory and SOPs. The role supports histology, cytology and transcription workflows, including slide preparation, staining, labeling, and case prep.

This 0.9 FTE position requires a high school diploma, 1 year of lab or related healthcare experience, good organization and communication, and willingness to work a rotating schedule including every 3rd weekend with

Qualifications

• 1 year of laboratory experience or healthcare-related experience with medical terminology.
• Specimen processing experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience and/or knowledge of laboratory tests preferred.
• Data entry/ keyboarding experience and computer proficiency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Receive and process laboratory specimens following regulatory requirements and SOPs.
• Support histology, cytology, and transcriptionist workflows including slide prep, staining, and labeling.
• Perform pathology report transcription, case preparation, and report distribution as needed.
• Maintain accurate order entry and ensure high-quality laboratory results.
