Job summary

Labcorp in Portland, OR is seeking a Lab Assistant to support specimen handling and processing on a 3rd shift (Thu-Sat, 3x10, 4:00pm-2:30am). You will receive and sort specimens, prepare them for testing, perform data entry, and maintain equipment and records.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, with preference for prior LabCorp experience and healthcare or clinical lab exposure. Ability to work overtime and pass a color vision test is important.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Current or prior LabCorp experience preferred.
• 6 months of experience in the healthcare industry (e.g., physician's office, clinic or hospital).
• 6 months of experience in an assembly or manufacturing production environment.
• 6 months of experience in a medical/clinical laboratory setting.

Responsibilities

• Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.
• Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
• Scan and/or data entry of specimen and patient information.
• Ensure all lab equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
• Troubleshoot any specimen related issues.
• Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
• Follow all Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.
