Job summary

Piedmont Rockdale Hospital in Conyers, GA is seeking a part-time Lab Assistant to support specimen processing and screening in a busy clinical lab.

The role includes venipuncture when needed, preparing blood specimens, and assisting technical staff while adhering to CMS CLIA guidelines and Piedmont policies. GED required; on-the-job training provided to develop essential laboratory skills.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Experience with EKGs preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or a clinical lab setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests per CMS (CLIA '88) and applicable standards.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens according to Piedmont policies and procedures.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Responsibilities:

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures at entities where applicable, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Qualifications:

Education

• H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required

Work Experience

• No experience required Required
• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• None Required
• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency Preferred
