Job summary

LewisGale Hospital Montgomery, part of LewisGale Regional Health System, seeks a Lab Assistant PRN to ensure accurate specimen processing and efficient registration. You will perform clerical duties, maintain specimen integrity, and prioritize delivery within regulatory guidelines.

The role requires ability to work independently or with a team, attention to detail, and dexterity to handle requisitions and data entry. Flexibility to rotating shifts and weekends is expected.

Qualifications

• Ability to review and understand department and Hospital manuals and procedures to properly carry out job duties.
• Clerical perception, attention to detail and finger dexterity required to rapidly and accurately transcribe data from requisitions to the computer ordering system.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Ensures accurate specimen processing to maintain specimen integrity.
• Performs registration procedures accurately and efficiently to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Performs various clerical duties and communicates effectively with colleagues.
• Prepares specimens for testing and prioritizes delivery to the department.
• Demonstrates competency in specimen processing and related computer functions.
