Job summary

Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a Lab Assistant, PRN to support the laboratory with specimen processing, venipuncture, and non-clinical tasks in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities include processing samples, collecting blood, and assisting senior staff while adhering to CMS/OSHA and state guidelines. Prior phlebotomy certification and healthcare exposure highly preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED is required.
• Phlebotomy certification preferred.
• Basic knowledge of venipuncture/phlebotomy preferred.
• Experience in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• RESPONSIBLE FOR:
• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA ?88), OSHA and the Georgia Department of Community Health and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable.
• Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures.
• Assists technical staff in non-clinical tasks.

Qualifications

• MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIRED: High School graduate or GED
• MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: None
• MINIMUM LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION REQUIRED BY LAW: None
• ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS: Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency is preferred.
• Basic knowledge of venipuncture/phlebotomy is preferred.
• Working knowledge of clinical laboratory processes is preferred.
• Experience in performing EKGs is preferred.
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting is preferred.
