Piedmont Columbus Midtown is seeking a Phlebotomist to perform sample collection and processing to support laboratory accuracy and timely test results.

The role involves venipuncture, specimen preparation, and assisting with both clinical and non-clinical tasks under supervision. Education requirements include a high school diploma or GED; hospital workflow and EKG experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or GED required.
• No experience required.
• 1 year of phlebotomist experience preferred.
• EKG experience preferred.
• Healthcare or clinical laboratory setting experience preferred.
• CPT Phlebotomy Certification preferred.

Responsabilités

• Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests per CMS/CLIA and Piedmont policies.
• Performs venipunctures and prepares blood specimens.
• Assists with clinical and non-clinical tasks under supervision to ensure accurate results.

Responsibilities

Performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA and other applicable regulatory, established standards as may be applicable. Performs venipunctures, and obtains/prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. Assists with both clinical and non-clinical tasks while working under the direct supervision of a licensed medical technologist/ technician to ensure that accurate, reliable results are generated by the laboratory.

Work Experience

• 1 year of experience as a phlebotomist Preferred
• Experience in performing EKGs Preferred
• Experience working in healthcare or clinical laboratory setting Preferred

Licenses and Certifications

• CPT - Phlebotomy Technician Certification Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA or equivalent agency Preferred
